IMG_6118Many of the boys were sent to Lyman for acts such as truancy, stubbornness, or for just being unwanted children. The boys received little or no education. Seven and eight year old’s were mixed in with some of the hardened teenagers and were treated like their personal slaves. Albert DeSalvo a.k.a. Boston Strangler spent a good part of his youth at Lyman.
